In the year 1997, few travels loving friends all of a suddenly decided to make a Bengali travel magazine. And during that time, there were no good Bengali travel magazines available for the people in the market. After lots of thinking and drawing up some plans, PORJOTAN was the name selected for the magazine. It first came out for the public as a 4-page tabloid and it was very well received by the public. Thus writings about new places increased. And we travelled around to find new and unknown places. Slowly people started to flock there and it became a travel destination.
With time the magazine changed itself. Many of the founding members left. Many other travel magazines came in the market seeing our popularity and success, but none reached the popularity of our magazine. PORJOTAN stood there with its head held high. Now after a long journey of 24 years, the magazine is more colorful and alive. Holding the hands of our readers and our advertisers, PORJOTAN is developing fast and steady. The journey is still going, many more places still to discover..
It's not about the destination; it's all about the journey.
